Built by a Former VA Decision-Maker — Designed to Beat the System That Denied You

We know exactly why claims get denied, underrated, and overlooked — because we’ve seen it happen from the inside. Every strategy we use is built to expose those weaknesses and force the correct outcome under VA law.

Supporting Veterans in Our Community

Our Mission

At Code Sheet Consulting, our mission is to provide support and resources to veterans and their families, with clients in every state and around the world. We believe that no veteran should be left behind and that every veteran deserves access to the benefits they are entitled to.

If Your Claim Isn’t Built Strategically, the VA Will Get It Wrong

The VA doesn’t fix weak claims — it denies them or underrates them. We build claims the right way the first time, or fix what went wrong. We don’t guess how the VA evaluates claims — we know. Every strategy is built using the same regulations, rating criteria, and decision logic the VA applies internally.

We Build VA Claims That Win — and Protect Every Dollar You’re Owed

Service connection is only half the battle. The right strategy determines your evaluation, your effective date, and your back pay. We develop claims designed to maximize all three from day one.  Most veterans never challenge incorrect effective dates or undervalued ratings. That mistake can cost years of compensation. We make sure it doesn’t.

A Nexus Letter Alone Doesn’t Win VA Claims — Strategy Does

Many veterans are told they need to spend hundreds, even thousands of dollars on a nexus letter before their claim even has a chance. In reality, a well-developed strategy often makes that unnecessary. VA-accredited representatives are trained to identify when the evidence already meets the legal threshold — and when the VA has a duty to assist by obtaining the medical opinion for you at no cost.

For example, if your service records show an in-service event and your current medical records show a diagnosed condition with even an indication they may be related, the VA is often required to order a compensation and pension (C&P) exam under its duty to assist. That exam can provide the nexus opinion needed to grant service connection — without you paying out of pocket.

In other cases, strong lay evidence combined with documented symptoms over time can be enough to establish continuity or trigger a favorable opinion, especially when the condition is observable or supported by existing treatment records. The key is knowing how to present and develop that evidence so it meets VA standards.

Nexus letters have their place, but they are not a shortcut — and they are not always necessary. We evaluate your case first, use the evidence already available whenever possible, and only pursue additional opinions when they are truly needed to win and maximize your claim.

If They Ask for Money Up Front, Ask What They’re Legally Allowed to Do for You

Many unaccredited “claim sharks” charge thousands before your claim is even filed — and then promise outcomes the law simply does not allow. They are not bound by VA accreditation standards, they cannot represent you before the VA, and they are not accountable when those promises fall apart.

VA-accredited representatives operate under strict federal regulations. We can legally represent you, develop your claim within the VA system, and are only paid from a portion of the back pay we help you secure — not upfront, and not out of your pocket. That structure aligns our incentive with your outcome: we don’t get paid unless you win.

More importantly, we know what is actually possible under VA law — and what isn’t. That means no empty guarantees, no wasted money on unnecessary services, and no strategies that put your claim or your effective date at risk. Just a disciplined, lawful approach designed to secure the maximum benefits you’ve earned.

You Don’t Pay Unless We Win — And Fees Come Only From the Back Pay We Secure

Our fee structure is simple and aligned with your outcome. We charge no upfront fees, no retainers, and no hourly billing. If we don’t recover retroactive benefits for you, you owe nothing.

When we do win, our fee is a percentage of the back pay awarded — not your future monthly benefits. In most cases, the VA pays this fee directly to us, so there’s no out-of-pocket expense or billing process for you to manage.

This approach ensures our focus is exactly where it should be: building the strongest possible claim, protecting your effective date, and maximizing the total compensation you receive. If it doesn’t result in a financial win for you, it doesn’t result in a fee for us.
